Free period products for students across Canada

Our mission

Every girl deserves to feel prepared at school.

Flowing Purple is a youth-led initiative. We help girls in Grades 5 to 12 manage their periods with confidence by placing free products in schools and making it easier to ask for help.

Why it matters

You are not alone. We are here to help.

A period should never be the reason a girl leaves class early, sits out of practice, or stays home. Yet for many students in Canada, that is still the reality, whether because products are not available when they are needed, the cost is difficult for their family, or they feel uncomfortable asking.

Access to period products is a matter of health, dignity, and equal opportunity in education. When a girl has what she needs, she can focus on learning, take part fully, and feel confident in herself.

Our approach

How we work.

01

Led by students

Our team understands these challenges first-hand because we share the same hallways.

02

Respectful

Support is offered privately. No one is ever asked to explain her need.

03

Transparent

Funds are held in a separate account managed by a trusted adult, every transaction is recorded, and our totals are published.

Our story

Started by a student, for students.

Flowing Purple was founded by Angie, a Grade 11 student in Ontario, to help make sure girls have the products and support they need at school. Her idea is simple and lasting: a way for students to support one another, school by school.

Our work is funded through the sale of a $5 backpack pin. Every pin helps place free products in schools, and every pin worn is a visible reminder that no girl is facing this alone.
